Key Foods – Atherea is a concept-driven project that reimagines the traditional Key Foods brand through the lens of a new, health-conscious demographic.
The design introduces Atherea as a fresh sub-brand, targeting a younger audience that prioritizes organic living, wellness, and intentional food choices. Rather than competing with conventional supermarket aesthetics, the space is positioned as a more curated, lifestyle-oriented grocery experience.
Materiality plays a central role in expressing this shift. Warm wood tones and limewash finishes define the interior, creating a soft, natural backdrop that evokes an organic and grounded atmosphere. A newly introduced salad bar serves as a focal point—both functionally and visually—reinforcing the brand’s emphasis on fresh, healthy offerings.
The bar counter is finished in beautiful quartz, providing a clean and refined surface that contrasts subtly with the textured cream limewash backdrop. This balance between tactile warmth and polished simplicity establishes a space that feels both elevated and approachable.
Through Atherea, Key Foods transitions from a traditional grocery model into a contemporary, wellness-driven environment—bridging familiarity with a new, aspirational way of living.
